For 2024: Transfer with Us guidance 2024

For 2025:  Transfer with Us guidance 2025

What are Arrival/Departure Times - if you are NOT traveling with us?

  • Aim to arrive at first safari location by 15:00. See each Safari website for guidance on this.
  • Departure on final day is up to you - we will schedule breakfast (or breakfast box) based on group members.
  • Please contact us for directions to the start location for each safari.

Will we be sleeping in a tent?

We generally use lodges, cottages and country hotels. On our 'In the Wild Big 5' Safari we sometimes use tented camps - but these are permanent, en-suite, very comfortable tents!

Are bed linen and towels provided?

Yes!

Are toiletries provided?

Not at all locations. Where they are provided they are basic soap/shampoo. We suggest you bring your own.  Please remember to limit plastic waste!

Is there electricity?

Not in all locations. Where it is needed - yes.  For all locations, please bring a torch!

Is there WiFi?

There is very little WiFi at any of our locations. Where it is provided it will be in a central location and bandwidth is limited.

Dietary Requirements?

Vegan and vegetarian diets and preferences can be catered for - but severe food allergies cannot. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Are there laundry services at the locations?

There are limited laundry services at all our locations for a small charge - but water is in short supply. Please try to bring all you need for the week, or be prepared to do a little hand washing.

What clothes to bring?

For Namaqualand (September)

  • Shoes
    • Light walking boots
    • Trainers
    • Sandals for evening/relaxing
  • Long trousers for hiking
  • Layers - T-shirts (long and short sleeved), light jackets, warm fleecies
  • Sunhat, Sun glasses, Sun Protection Cream

For Cape (June):

  • As above - it can be cold and wet in June - so layers are important

For In the Wild (June):

  • This is in Limpopo - and early/late game drives can be very cold in the open safari vehicles - suggest in addition to the list above - also pack in gloves, scarf, and thick jacket.

What else to bring?

  • Day Pack
  • Torch
  • Camera
  • Water bottle
  • Binoculars for our 'In the Wild Big 5' Safari
  • Bird/Mammal/Flower/Star gazing guides - depending on your interests. We do have our own experienced guides and guide books at each location.
  • On our Cape and In the Wild Safaris there are swimming pools at the locations. They are not heated, so will be cold. But if you are braver than we are - pack a swimming costume 😊

What NOT to bring?

  • Excess valuables/accessories
  • Smart evening wear - our tours and locations are all very casual
